Welcome to North America's only yielding Diamond Field...
We're finally here!
WELCOME to the only public diamond mine in North America.  Located in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, you pay a nominal fee to dig in a field to your hearts desire for striking it big!  And yes, you keep what you find, whether it is quartz, sandstone or a yellow or white diamond.
For more information on digging for diamonds or other great Arkansas state parks, go to their website

I'm panning for diamonds!
Joshua shows mom a piece of green dirt...
Where is my shovel, dad?
Pictured clockwise:  Joshua shows mom a "green rock" he found while digging for diamonds.  Thomas is watching the rest of us fools digging in green stuff that he just doesn't understand just yet.  Panning for diamonds as I work in the hot temperatures at the mine.  My great-grandfather was the attorney who represented the farmer who first discovered diamonds on this field in the early 1900's.  It is said that DeBeers, the diamond cartel, kept on burning down the mining equipment located at the site because North American diamonds would cut into their profits.  Under the help of John W. Bishop, the farmer won a judgement against the diamond company.
Mom B, who is 95, is surrounded by her grandkids and great-grand kids!
Pictured right is Mom B (center) with her family.  From left rear: Aaron, Jimmy, Caroline, Mark, daughter Carolyn, and Jon Mark.  Pictured front Joshua, Rebecca and Thomas, the 2nd great-grand child.  By the time this page was produced, Caroline and Mark Warren were expecting their first child any day now.  Congrats!
